Horseshoe Bend, Page AZ.

Adventure Done Right

Horseshoe Bend, Page AZ. While in town to check out Antelope Canyon we wanted to check off some of the other things to do nearby. We had Horseshoe Bend on the list for sure! It's massive and very impressive, beautiful, and looks exactly what it is called, a horseshoe bend in the middle of rock formations! We had a walk from the car up top a hill and thought it was right over the hill? Ha! No, we had to keep walking further to get to it, but was worth walking there and back. The colors are as they appear in the photos, the water has both a blue and green tone to it. This place represents a horse shoe shape meander of the Colorado River, outside of Page, highlighting massive rock formations. It's located about 5 miles downstream from Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. We saw Horseshoe Bend from the steep cliff above. The overlook is 4,200 feet above sea level. The rock walls of Horseshoe Bend contain minerals like hematite, platinum, and garnet. We didn't get here on our previous trip to the Grand Canyon, so we wanted to make sure this time we didn't miss out! Take a look at our photos taken from the cliffs edge and enjoy these incredible images from our trip and stay tuned for our next YouTube video on our journey at Horseshoe Bend.
