Camping / Glamping in Melbourne, Australia at St. Jerome's - The Hotel

We decided to spend one of our evenings in Melbourne Glamping, at St. Jerome's - The Hotel. Our accommodations included a LUXE Plus Tent, a spacious 5x5m canvas bell tent fitted with a queen sized pillow top bed, with heating and cooling, throws and robes, a stocked esky (cooler filled with drinks) and more. Some of the other features included complimentary bowling right next door, cocktail and macaroon hour, and a building roof top for relaxing in the sun, playing games, and ice cream delivery at night. Take a look at our photo experience below and if you have questions, feel free to message us! And... check out our Glamping Video here on our YouTube Channel!

St. Jerome's Hotel Melbourne Glamping

More information campers:

Location: Melbourne, Australia.

Hotel: St. Jerome's - The Hotel

+61 406 118 561 / Level 3, 271 Little Lonsdale Street / Melbourne Central, Melbourne, VIC

About: Placed on the rooftop of Melbourne Central Shopping Centre, St. Jerome’s – The Hotel is comprised of 21 spacious world-class standard canvas bell tents dressed with all the lavish trimmings expected of a luxury hotel. The Hotel provides its guests with an unparalleled city experience in the most unique of settings.

Weather: We took our trip during their Summer Season, so the days were hot, and the nights were cool. Being a roof-top hotel you pretty much received full sunlight during the day hours, so bring your sunscreen! It gets hot baking on the rooftop!

Things to Note:

Another thing to keep in mind is the noise of the city/night life, so we recommend bringing your headphones. A cool bonus for campers included a digital tablet available in the tents to watch TV and Movies. We had one with us, but for others I'm sure it was a treat!

There is a sauna on site, shower and toilet areas.

24 hours prior to your arrival you can place in-tent dining orders.

We brought our Lewis N. Clark Travel Sentry Combination Lock to keep our belongings safe. You can check it out by clicking the link here.

We did this for a few reasons. When contacting the hotel about security ahead of time they noted not to bring things we didn't need with us, just the basics, however we were traveling for 16 days and each had suitcases and backpacks full of camera, go pro gear, tablets, and more.

Unlike a normal room keyed hotel where you have a room safe and at least a locked key card entry we were in a zipper tent. We wanted to make sure when leaving the tented areas that our belongings were safe, so we used the Lewis N. Clark lock to keep our bags secured, and to fix multiple bags together with the coated steel cable.

The lock was really light weight and took up minimal space in our bags when not in use. Did I mention the lock is also TSA approved?! because it is! Using a Travel Sentry Approved lock allows your luggage to be unlocked and inspected by special authorities without damage and for us... some peace of mind while we left our travel belongings in a tented area. We absolutely recommend picking one up for your travel needs as you never know when you might be camping, or when it might come in handy! We plan to continue to take ours on the adventures ahead!

Lastly, you can leave your camping gear at home, everything you need is provided for you.

Happy Camping!
