Isle of Skye is really beautiful!

By Adventure Done Right

Isle of Skye has so much landscape and scenery to offer. Epic waterfalls, mountains, and more! We were able to spend a few days here while in Scotland and boy is it pretty! Some suggested places to visit: The Storr, Neist Point, Dunvegan Castle, Eilean Donan (on your way to Skye), and Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls Viewpoint. Drive around, explore and take in the scenery!

The Isle of Skye (an t-Eilean Sgiathanach in Gaelic) takes its name from the old Norse sky-a, meaning ‘cloud island’, a Viking reference to the often-mist-enshrouded Cuillin Hills. It’s the second-largest of Scotland’s islands, a 50-mile-long patchwork of velvet moors, jagged mountains, sparkling lochs and towering sea cliffs. Video is coming soon, in the meantime enjoy our photo tour around Isle of Skye, Scotland.

Our view at Breakfast - just gorgeous! We enjoyed a full Scottish Breakfast that was served in the Lounge of The House Over-By, with its stunning, panoramic views over Loch Dunvegan, the Minch and the peaks of Harris and North Uist.

TIP: We booked our hotel 3 months ahead of time as we were traveling in the summer months, we suggest you book early as well. Almost every hotel, inn, etc had no vacancy signs up when we were in town. Summer is one of the busiest times of year to visit Skye, be sure to make your accommodations before you arrive!

We booked at The Three Chimneys, House Over By, click the link to visit and book your reservation.
